Brooklyn liked seeing their rooms. Ryder had done a great job with getting their rooms done. She couldn't help but smile at the amount of work that had gone into them. Watching Forrest walk around and show her everything was a great experience. It really allowed her to get to know the family she left behind. Her hand moved up to her collarbone as she ran her fingers over the silhouette birds. There were three. At the time, it had been just because she wanted them, but now there was a reason.
When the offer to see Ry's room came up, her spirits lifted. What would she find in there? "Yes I'd love to." Brooklyn had ignored the comment about looking like her mama. She didn't feel the need to get into that right now.

Forrest grinned at her answer to viewing her dads room "this way, be careful though, theres a hole int he floor "she walked to the last closed door, took a deep breath and pushed the door open, she slipped round the hole easilly and climbed onto her dads bed, picking up the bear there, he told her it was her moms bear when she had asked as a child, and said when she was 16 she could have it, she put it in her lap and gently stroked its ash covered ears "i shall wash you" she said softly to the bear, she smiled at Brooke, the room was filled with pictures of her and her brother, her mom and her dad, and a few of her dad forrest and leaf, the wardrobe was still intact, inside laid a shirt her dad had that was her moms. "come in come in "she picked up a bracelet from the table and a pair of dog tags, she fiddled with them before slipping them round her neck and wrist, her dads and moms.

Brooklyn took in the room when they entered. Everything in there was her, her children and a little bit of him. Her heart started to race as she looked around. This room hadn't been hit as hard as some of the others had been, minus the hole. She let her eyes scan over every photo as she moved closer. There were pictures of her ring, the day he asked her to marry him and pictures, professional ones, of when she had been pregnant. As she looked over all of the photos, her hands lightly drifted off some of the dust. Her hands were shaking and her body was filled with nerves.
At first, she thought she would be fine but as she looked down, she noticed that one of the drawers were open. In it laid one of her most prized pieces of clothing. She smiled but didn't grab it. Ryder had kept a part of her. Well, a lot of her. When she turned around to look back at Forrest, she noticed the bear. Her bear. The purple bear had been given to her by her grandma when she passed away. She walked over to the bed and sat down next to Forrest. The bear still looked as it had when she was seven, but now it was covered in ashes. All of her wanted to ask for it but she knew that it was all Forrest had of her mother, even though she was sitting right next to her.
After the bear and the photos, the dog tags and bracelet came into view. The Italian scripture on the bracelet made her smile. It was a solid gold bracelet. It had been Ryder's one year anniversary gift to her. The dog tags, however, had a completely different story. He had been in the military since they had gotten together. Ryder had been two years older than her, giving him two years in the military before they met. Brooklyn felt around in her pocket as she pulled out a pair of dog tags, hers had blue silencers on it as she held them in her hands. Ry had gotten them for her to wear in support of him. Throughout their relationship, he had been deployed twice. The thought of him not coming home resurfaced and she clutched her dog tags in her hands. "Forrest, I need to tell you something."

Forrest was stroking the bears ear like she did her pink one, babbling softly about how it matched hers and leafs baby bears, reminding herself she ha them in her bag to take to the asylum, she looked up watching Brooke as she sat down, her eyes moving to Brookes hand as she got the dog tags out "those are like daddys" she said softly, touching the tags, her eyes moved to the drawer on the unused side of the bed, she reached over and tugged it open, reaching in and grabbing a box "this is daddys special box" she opened it and stared at the rings inside, the engagement ring her mom had and her dads ring wiht an inscription on it she smiled at them then blinked at brooke "tell me what?"

Brooklyn was about to say what she needed to when she saw the rings. The memory of his first night home from his second deployment rang happily in her mind. It was the night he had proposed, and the night she got pregnant. Her free hand moved towards the box until she carefully took out the engagement ring. The softer yellow gold band with a few diamond and sapphires went well against her skin as she slid it on. "This was mine, Forrest." She let her eyes meet her daughters as she looked at her. "I'm your mother. I died when I was 22, seven months after Ryd- your father, proposed to me. He had just gotten home from his second deployment." Brooke paused and handed her the dog tags that she had. "Read them, and then look at your fathers."

Forrest blinked at her, then took the tags, staring at the words inscribed upon them, she untucked her dads tags from her shirta nd read them, her eyes became unfocused for a few minutes, images flashing through her as she took memories from each, she gasped and dropped both, one hitting her chest, the other falling into her lap, her eyes flashed dangerously as she looked at Brooke, then calmed "we need to find leaf" she said suddenly, she lifted the bear in her lap then looked at brooke "can i keep her?" she asked holding the bear, a little protectively, she moved suddenly, quickly around the room, going through things, she stopped a frame and took it down, wiping dirt and dust from it, she removed the picture from the glass and held it out to Brooke "its for you" she said softly, a picture of Forrest leaf and their dad was held in her hands, they shook, her need for medication coming back "leaf needs to know" she babbled softly

Brooklyn watched as Forrest ran around the room. She smiled when she was asked if Forrest could keep the bear but before she could respond, she was already running around the room frantically. "Forrest, calm down." Her voice was soft as she spoke. Brooke got up from the bed and moved toward her. She reached out for the photo and kept it dear to herself. "Thank you, and yes I agree. Lets go tell your brother." All of her wanted to stay here with Forrest and reminisce but she knew they needed to tell Leaf as well.

Forrest froze, eyes moving as if she could see things, she frowned, grabbed at Brookes hand and whispered "you're not my imagination are you? you're not going to leave us again?" her lip trembled as she spoke, she held the purple bear and her horse close to her chest, a single tear splashed down her face before she tugged Brookes hand "lets go find leaf, leaf knows what to do" she nodded more to herself then Brooke, but tugged again "we can come back later, get more stuff... wish they'd let us rebuild and live here, we were always so happy here..." she continued babbling as she led Brooke round the hole in the ground.

Brooklyn took her hand again, a different connection going through her this time. "I'm not going anywhere, I promise." Her voice showed all signs of reassurance, although, Ryder wasn't here. He was in a place that she had been kicked out of. A place she knew that Ryder stood no chance of leaving. Her body shuddered at that fact but she tried not to dwell. Once they were out of the house, she waited for Forrest to lead the way to the asylum. Brooke wanted to comfort her but she knew that now wasn't a good time. She wasn't stable just yet.

Forrest tugged her moms hand all the way to the asylum, babbling softly about anything and everything, the bear and horse held tight to her chest, when they reached the gates the gaurds let them in, Forrest snapping at them, they could see she was unstable, she practically ran to her room, where Leaf was sat reading.
