The slight wind blew against Brooklyn as she sat at the top of the cliff. The news from earlier that week had completely blown her mind. Around her neck lay the locket and dog tags from what used to be their old house. The ring, still on her finger. She still wasn't sure what to think about everything. A fallen angel who had been reunited with her family, it seemed almost impossible to her. She needed time to think and this was the only place she knew. Her breath was soft an shallow as she tried to steady her mind. So far, she hasn't really talked to anyone in the town, except for her children and Teagan.

Lucian stood leaning against the single solitary tree that decorated the otherwise bare cliff top as he watched the woman who was standing there. He closed his eyes and breathed in the scent that she gave off. Fallen angel. She held pain he could tell. Pain and confusion. He wondered if she would like his assistance. Assistance that he was more than willing to give. Some souls were worth more than others, and the soul of a fallen angel was worth that of a hundred humans.

Brooklyn stayed on the cliff, she could read minds but at the moment, she had turned that part of her off. It would be too much on her mind if she was able to take in other peoples thoughts as well. It wasn't often that she let that power work. Only when she absolutely needed to. She had no idea that someone was watching her. Her hand rubbed the back of her neck as she pulled her knees closer to her body. She wanted to be happy again, and with her kids back around, she could be... but not as happy as she would have been if she would have never died.

Lucian walked over and took a seat on the edge of the cliff next to her. "You look like you could use some cheering up." He said as he looked her over. "What has you so down?" He questioned. "Maybe I can help you out." He offered.

Brooklyn jumped when she heard the sound of a man's voice behind her. She turned around and stared at him, unsure of what he wanted. She raised an eyebrow at him. "I died when I was 22, I fell from Heaven for being bad, and I just ran into my two children that I never got the chance to meet, and their father is dead." Her voice was soft as she spoke, malice sort of showing towards the end. Who was this guy?

Lucian nodded his head. He could just smell a deal forming from a mile away. This woman was desperate he could tell. She was just the type that he searched out. "And you feel that everything would be better if you had never died. If your husband was still alive and you were one happy family again." He told her as he put on a sympathetic face.

Brooklyn shrugged. "No, not necessarily. My kids are the way they are because I died. I don't know how things would have played out if I was alive... and I'm not sure I want to see them that way." Her voice drifted away as she stared out over the cliff. It was a long drop from the top if anything were to go amiss. "I just wish that Ryder wouldn't have been killed before I was made to leave Heaven." Her black wings threatened to come out but she tried her hardest to keep them in. "I get sent back here to find myself, and my family... and the main person in it is dead? How is that fair?"

Lucian nodded his head. "You're right. That isn't fair at all." He agreed. "How are you supposed to return to your daily with your husband is gone?" He asked shaking his head. "What would you do to have him back?" He questioned just casually.

Brooke thought that the questions he was asking was rather odd, but she hadn't taken a really good look at him. She didn't realize that she had a demon sitting next to her, prying into her every part of life. "We never got married. We were engaged, and then I died." Her voice sounded hostile now. The angry part of her was coming out but she tried to calm herself down. The wings were completely out of her now, the black fluttering behind her. She turned her head to meet the person sitting next to her. "Why do you ask?"

"What would it mean to you of he was back? If you could finally be married?" Lucian asked her. "Would you give anything to be a family again?" He questioned. "A proper family with a mother and father?"

Brooke stayed quiet for a few moments. She was unsure of what to tell this strange man sitting next to her. She was about to say something but thought better of it and bit her lip instead. She stared at him for a few seconds before speaking. "You know, I think this is a sort of intimate conversation and I don't even know your name."

"I'm sorry. Forgive my rudeness. I'm Lucian." He said smiling charmingly at her as he extended a hand for her to shake. He wasn't worried. He could smell her desperation. She wanted her would he husband back as much as he wanted her soul. How sweet it would be when he got to watch his hell hounds shredding her one dragging her down to hell as the other returned to him with her soul. Oh would that soul get him anything he wanted.

Brooke took his hand and shook it. "Brooklyn." Her voice wasn't as cold anymore, her anger had subsided momentarily. The charming look on her face put her body and mind at ease. She took her hand back and leaned back against the one and only tree trunk on the cliff top. Her fingers played with the pieces of grass that were left as she looked at Lucian. "I'm not sure what I would do to get him back. He's in Heaven, and he's not like me. He's not a bad guy... he won't get kicked out like me."

"I could get him for you." Lucian said. "I could return him to you. Let you get back to having a happy family. Let you finally have a husband." He told her with a smile. He sounded like he truly just wanted to help. It was something he had perfected a long time ago that helped him make the deals with the ones that didn't call him. The ones that didn't come into the conversations with him ready to give up anything already.

It seemed a little surreal and out of place that someone would randomly come up to another person and offer such a hefty gesture. The thought of it alone was enough to make her break out into a fit of laughter. "I'm sorry, but have you lost your mind?" Her eyebrows were raised as she looked at him. "He is in Heaven, not down here or missing or anything. How on Earth do you possibly think you could fix that?"
