"You're here now" Leaf said softly, a gentle smile in his eyes "when the house is done, you can go into dads room if you like, it might make you feel closer to him" he looked back at forrest and poked her "oi you, come back form wherever it is you are" when forrest didnt reply, he rolled his eyes at her and chuckled "we need to work on the bathroom upstairs, its wrecked, downstairs the rooms at stable but need work, damaged badly, especially the kitchen" he lowered his voice "i dont want forrest int here until i know all evidence is gone" by evidence he meant blood stains and the knife.

Brooklyn nodded. She was there now, for the two of them. They lost one parent before and managed with their father, and now that he was gone, they had their mother back. She really hoped it wouldn't always be that way but she was in no mood to be looking for another man to court her. "I'll think about it. I wouldn't want her, or you, to feel odd if I stayed in his room." She needed to think of them and their comfort zones first, as she did not want to step out of those zones just yet. When the mention of the knife, blood and stabbing came up, Brooke felt her stomach tie into a knot. "I'm not too sure I want to see that myself. I don't get how anyone..." She drifted off and paused before continuing. "How anyone could do that to Ry."

Leaf looked down at his hands but forrest spoke "they did it because he wouldn't hand me over for an exorcism" she spoke softly, her eyes fixed on the corner before she stood, leaving the attic and moving to her room, she shut the door quietly and curled up on the bed, not caring it was dusty and needed cleaning.
LEaf sighed as she left "she blames herself" he shook his head "truth is they had alot more in mind then jsut an exorcism" his eyes darkened "dad was just protecting us" he helped pack the trunk up "we'll put it in forrests room, get to work on the house, if dads room isnt ok we can build a bedroom up here" he smiled weakly and helped her carry the trunk down

Brooklyn watched as Forrest left. She felt bad that she carried the burden of her fathers death on her her shoulders. "She shouldn't blame herself. As I said, your father was a selfless man. He would die for anyone that meant something to him. It was part of the reason I was so worried he would come back to me in a box... I never thought I'd be the first to go." She shrugged and helped Leaf take the box down. "Was he still in the military? As you were growing up? I know he only had six months left when... the accident happened." Her voice got soft at that part. Her life had ended at that point and she didn't have a say in it. Now she had it back, it was a second chance, even if it had been an exile at first.

"from what gramma told us he was discharged a week after the accident" he shrugged his shoulders some "i remember him being there the whole of our child hood, i'm glad he was" Leaf gave her a smile, knocked on forrests door and gently opened it, he took the trunk in and set it on the floor by the dresser, walked over to his sister and saw she was once again asleep, he shook his head and covered her with his jacket, then led brooke out of the room and shut the door quietly "lets go downstairs, maybe we can get the living room clean tonight, i'm good wth electrics so i'll get the power running at some stage before it gets dark"

"I'm glad too." Brooke smiled at her son. It felt so good to know who her children were. She walked down the stairs as Leaf made Forrest comfortable. She surveyed the surrounding area of the living room and let out a big sigh. "This is going to take a long time... well maybe. I can use my powers, if you can use yours?" She could clean things easily, so long as her powers were in the working mood. There had been times recently where she felt like they were slipping away from her, but it was only during the times where she felt vulnerable and sad.

"yep powers are good to use" he said exming the stair case and the banister "this is gonna need some work, he went towards the kitchen and paused outside the doorway, staring into the blackened mess, sure enough under the debris he could see the dried pool of blood, he held his breath and refused to look, opening the backdoor and seeing the shed still intact he grinned, thought hard and the lock burst open, he concentrated and wood and equipment flew past him and into the lounge, piling up neatly on a safe area of floor, he glanced back at the garden, teh shed shutting and locking itself, he used his powers to repair the shed then held his breath, shut the door and walked through without looking, closing the kitchen door tight and walking to the lounge "this should help with the flooring, we can get more tomorrow, you can start in here and i'll work on the stairs and upstairs bathroom if thats ok with you?"

"That's okay with me." Brooklyn was ready to make this house liveable again. It would just be them in the little town, as everyone else had left. There were no real inhabitants in this city, not since it's destruction it seemed. She ran a hand over her neck as she tried to think of the best way to fix this living room. Brooke concentrated and made it so that the the couch pushed itself back and into the already messy kitchen, as well as the rest of the stuff in the living room. First things first, fix the floor. It would take awhile to get all of the old floorboard up, for any normal person, but as she stood closer to the kitchen floor, ignoring the sight of blood and the knife, she concentrated and made all of the old, bad wood fly up and out of the house. The new wood began to take it's place. "You said you got all of Ry... your dad's money, right? Do you think your sister would be up for a shopping trip some day to get new furniture and things?"

Leaf watched her work a small smile on his face "she loves shopping, always babbling on about what we need to buy, her favorite color is green" she smiled some more as he used his powers to rip up teh boards on teh stairs "might be able to get some tongiht if she wakes up, don't know if the meds have her out for the count or not" he shrugged some, watching the banister start to repair itself, the wood seemd to be growing from the burnt splinters nad becoming good as new

Brooke watched as the floorboards replaced themselves. She was glad that her son was a lot like her and a lot like Ryder. It meant their powers would be able to fulfill the necessities of cleaning up the house. Slowly, the wood began to stain itself. It was a darker brownish-red color. She smiled and looked proud of herself at the finishing touch. "Well, I will surprise her with her bedroom then. Just make sure you keep her out of the house or upstairs while I am doing it. And if she does wake up, we can go tonight, but if not, it will give us time to fix this up so that when she wakes up she'll be surprised." Brooke grinned and watched as the TV stand started to repair itself, along with the windows and blinds.

Leaf nodded, continuing work on the stairs once it was finished he walked up, teasting each one "i'll jsut be at the top of the stairs, i can hear and reply, but im gonna work on the bathroom and dads floor" he smiled softly at her and stopped at the top, closing his eyes he drew more strength from inside himself and watched as the bathroom started rebuilding, the window replacing itself, the bath shower, toilet and sink slowly looking like they melted then regrew into white, porcelein and frosted glass, he lent ont he wall once done, catching his breath, it took alot fro him to do this much work in a small amount of time.

Brooklyn was older and therefore, had the ability for more power. Especially since she had come down from Heaven to figure herself out. When one was exiled, they were giving the highest amount in order to last long enough to do their job. The living room was starting to clean itself up now and aside from the crappy couch, all looked well. There were spots on the wall that she was planning on hanging up some of her artwork in, provided that she could find frames that would fit all of them when they went shopping.
Once she was done, she moved into the kitchen. Her feet coming to a halt when she saw the blood and the knife. Ryder had once laid here. The thought made her sick to her stomach as she thought about the man she loved dying by the hand of another. Her feet dragged her over to the spot. She didn't feel that this could be done with powers, even though she knew she could do it, it just didn't feel right. Brooke went to the sink and grabbed a big wash cloth, she put soap on it and water before she got on her hands and knees and began scrubbing. Tears were falling down her face.

Leaf checked on Forrest, seeing her awake he smiled "hey sleepy head, doy ou fancy going shopping for some furniture? we've done the stairs, dads bedroom floor, the bathroom and living room, i think br.... mom is working on the kitchen" he brushed hair from her face and she blinked sleepily "i like shopping" she said softly sitting up, leaf gave a big smile "well lets go downstairs, you can wait while i sort the electrics and boiler out and then we'll all go out ok?" Forrest nodded and followed her brother downstairs, he put her in the living room before going to the basement, here there was no damage, the fire door having kept it out, he moved about in the darkness, eyes adjusting he came to the power area, he started the boiler up easy, disconnecting all the broken pipes so they didnt have any leaks, once done her moved to the electrics, quickly with his mind he repaired the broken cables, and the lights came on in the basement, kitchen and living room, upstairs remained off, as they had been when the fire broke out, he dusted his hands off, looked about the basement and sighed, boes were down here, things they stored, dads bike, a beautiful restored harley, he run his fingers over it fondly before going abck upstairs where he locked the basement door then leaned on the burnt door frame of the kitchen "We oculd of left that" he whispered

Brooklyn jumped when she heard Leaf. She wiped the tears away from her eyes. She shook her head. "Forrest doesn't need to see it... and I didn't feel it should be washed away with powers." Her voice was not more than a whisper as she spoke. "It's all clean now. Your sister won't have to worry about seeing any remnants... maybe we can completely rearrange this room, make it so that spot doesn't exist as much in her mind?" Brooke wanted to help the two of them out, but doing it was beginning to hurt her as she realized that she was losing him again.

Leaf walked over and crouched, he touched her hand "have hope, you came back, hey may too" he tried to smile tthen glanced round the kitchen "forrest doesnt like change... keeping it the same will be easier, shes awake fi you want to go out?" hgently stroked her back and handed her a tissue from his pocket "its clean" he said softly
