Brooke took the tissue from him and blew into it. She smiled at him and ran a hand through her hair. "Alright, I'll just clean it up a bit then. Maybe change the wood a little bit, nothing too drastic. And yeah, maybe that would get me out of my sadness." She stood up from the floor and couldn't help but look at Leaf. He was so much like his dad. "You really will do your father justice. You know that?" She patted his shoulder and started to make her way out of the kitchen, not wanting to be in there anymore. She waited at the door for Forrest and Leaf to get ready to go out.

Leaf got forrest into her coat and she slipped her hand into his, he squeezed gently, then checked his pockets for his wallet, nodding he lead the way to the door 2ready?" he asked, he opened the door and let them out, then shut it, locking it with his mind, knowing it would be safe, he then offered Brooke his back again, forrest shifting her weight impatiently

Brooke got back onto his back and waited for him to take off. It was a lot faster with him toting them along then if she was to just walk next to them. They were quick and nimble still. She held onto him and looked back at the house that they would soon be living in. The fact that they were together was a miracle to her now. It was almost as if she had never left.

Leaf took off, Forrest at the same spped, everything became a blur as they arrived at the shops, he set brooke down and told her to take a moment to get her balance, Forrest glanced aorund nervously until her brother put his hand on her arm "try to be calm ok Forrest? no one is going to touch you, no one knows us, we are jsut three new students moving into a house in town?" he looked at Brooke as he spoke as well, makign sure they both got the story "if you get scared hold mine or moms hand ok?" Forrest nodded, grabbing onto Brookes hand.

Brooklyn regained her balance and smiled at the two before nodding. She understood the story. She knew that she had to keep them under wraps in order to keep them from being sent back to the asylum. "I can teach you guys what you need to learn. Just so you know. I went to school to be a teacher." She smiled once more before making her way into the shops.

the twins grinned at one another, Forrest gripped her hands tighter so she wouldnt get lost, walking to the shops with her, leaf bringing up the rear, they entered a large furniture shop, and Forrest tried to let go, to wander off and look at things, Leaf shook his head at her "stay close ok?" he whispered she pouted but held onto brookes hand again, staying next to her. An assistant came up, offered them help, leaf said they were fine, the assistant walked away "so what do we need to get brooke?" he asked softly, eyes watching to cops or asylum workers.

Brooklyn watched the two of them. They had to be safe as they walked around in the public eye right now. She knew people would be out for them. She held onto Forrest's hand. "Well we could use new beds, couches, chairs, maybe a kitchen table? Pretty much look around the store and find things you like. Don't worry about price. It's whatever the two of you want for your bedrooms." She paused and looked down at Forrest. "Find the furniture that you want, but I'm doing your bedroom. It'll be a surprise."

"Kay" Forrest Squeaked and Leaf took her hand "theres a section of couches and bedding, also painting stuff down isle 3" Leaf whispered to Brooke as Forrest tugged on his hand eagerly "i'll get her to find her favorite bed linen too, if she doesn't have it she'll cry" he rolled his eyes with a smile "alright For i'm coming" he said as his sister tugged his hand harder and whined, he smiled at Brooke one more time then followed his sister as she babbled quietly about pretty shiny objects and nice fabric she liked, and of course the colour green, Leaf sighed walking with her, they looked at beds first, people often wondered how he put up with his sister. He couldn't answer them, he just could put up with her, when their dad had died, he was all she had and he knew thier dad would of wanted him to take care of her, she was unstable before the murder, now she was 'off the rocker'.
Leaf came back to reality as Forrest pointed out a bed, it was pretty, the head board was silver with leaves coming off the iron work, he smiled "do you like that one?" he asked her, she nodded "you get the same?" Forrest asked, Leaf smiled softly "if i don't see a different one i like, i promise i will get the same as you okay?" Forrest nodded her head eagerly, Leaf got the piece of paper that they were meant to write item numbers down on and wrote the number for the bed frame and the mattress then followed her as they looked around.
Forrest found her favorite bed sheets, green with forrests and animals all over them, she also found matching curtains, a lamp with the same design and a toy hammock, Leaf wrote everything down, adding things he liked as well when he lost Forrest for a moment, he turned and found her a few metres down the isle, she was staring at a stuffed animal, a unicorn, her eyes were wide, it was a pastel green colour with sparkles on the horn, not huge but big enough to cuddle, she just stared at it. Leaf took it down from the shelf, noticing it was the last one, he looked it over, and smiled "Do you want it For? we can get it if you do? it'll look good in your room once we get your toys cleaned off" Forrests eyes turned to his, shining brightly as she nodded "Can i get the pink blue and purple one too?" her eyes were hopeful, Leaf nodded and she let out a squeal, he got the other three down and handed them to her to carry, she babbled to them quietly, staying close to her brother as they looked.

Brooklyn went in search of living room, bathroom and kitchen accessories. She also looked for things to put in Ryder's room, such as: a new mattress, pillows, comforters, curtains, rugs and so on. She loved his bed and matching end tables but everything else was a little too manly for her. She pushed the cart around as she added in the comforters she wanted and the other smaller things. All of the big pieces of furniture, she wrote down. As she looked at the stuff in the basket, she smiled. The house was going to be beautiful.
Before se went in search of the kids, she left her first basket up by the register and grabbed another basket. This one was for paint. She knew what she was going to do in most of the rooms so she knew which colors to get and everything else. By the end of her choosing, the cart had around 18 to 20 cans of paint, about thirty brushes, many in different sizes, and a few other things as well.
Brooklyn went up to the counter with her second cart and had them bag the special things she got for Forrest before she had them called up. She didn't want Forrest to know what she had gotten her. "I would like all of this stuff delivered within the next hour or so." Her voice was steady as she spoke. The lady looked at her as if she was nuts, but she was okay with that. "Also, please page my children, as they had a lot to add to the list of things." Their total was getting pretty high but she knew how much Ryder had been worth. He had never spent a dime of any of his military money, which included his normal paycheck and his deployments. There was at least 500,000 back then, so she knew there was more now. The price did not worry her.

Forrest walked after her brother happily as he finished adding last bits, bed sheets for him another frame he liked, mattereses pillows blankets etc, he put them int he cart, added the big things to the list and got himself a bear, a blue one, like the purple one back at the house that was brookes, he smiled, stroked its ear once and nodded at Forrest, the speakers suddenly asked them both to return to the check out so they did, but Leaf stopepd and grabbed boxes of bulbs, and a few new light fittings, nets for the windows and other bits they might need.
Forrest hummed a soft tune to herself as they walked, Leaf kept talking, keeping her in this world, she listened, nodded or shook ehr head when appropriate and went back to humming, they came up to the check out, Leaf unloaded everything he had in the cart and handed the paper over with the big items, he took his card from his pocket, ready to pay, knowing there was well over 3 million in his bank alone, Forrest had roughly the same amount, though she had more where she hadn't used her card, which LEaf was now in charge of, he smiled at his mom "ready to pay?" he asked

Brooke watched as they unloaded their cart. A big smile appeared on her face. "Not sure I am, it's gonna be a big price." She watched as the lady rang everything up, the price increasing with every ding. They were already up to 60,000 and they still had the rest of the big items to go. This wasn't exactly a cheap furniture store, but that made Brooke happy. It meant that the kids would get nice bedding and furniture that wouldn't fall apart in a couple of months or years. It would last them long enough. And by then, maybe their dad would be back. She twiddled her fingers on the counter as she waited for the rest of their stuff to be bagged. When it was all said and done, the total came out to a little under 100,000.
"Alright money boy, slide your card." Brooke laughed and patted him on the back. She was glad that they offered a delivery service because getting most of this home would be one hell of a trip. Especially if they had to lug everything that was big as well. Thankfully though, they didn't have to assemble anything because the furniture company did it for them. She glanced back at Forrest and smiled at her, taking her hand as she pulled her away from the register and over by the door. "Did you get everything you wanted sweetie?" She wanted to make sure that she hadn't cut her shopping time down any.

LEaf watched the price getting higher and higher, a small smile slide onto his lips, he wanted everything perfect for their home, everything the way it should be, getting dad back would be tougher but he was working on it, and he was sure Mom could help too. he slid the card into the holder, typed in the pin and waited, the cashier gave him a look and he raised his eyebrows at her, they started talking, about money and how much they spent, Leaf assuring her that they had plenty of what they needed.
When brooke took Forrest aside, she was still holding her new friends, the purple pink and blue on in a bag on ehr arm, the green one tucked safely into her arms, a smile on her face, she looked happy, truely happy, she hadn't looked or felt that happy since Daddy had died, when Brooke asked her if she had everything she nodded "i got my new friends" she said showing brooke her unicorns "and my favorite bed stuff" she wiggled a little "can we get some candy on the way home? i really like candy" she looked like a child again, asking her parents for candy, her eyes sparkled with a child like gleam as she looked hopeful, Leaf came over, a bag in his hand with the blue bear and a surprise for Brooke. "all paid are we ready to go? they will be by the house in an hour to drop the stuff off" he said softly

Brooklyn looked over the unicorns. "They'll look very pretty in your room. I'll make sure that I make a place just for them." She smile at her daughter and looked up when Leaf came over. She was glad that he had accepted her as their rightful mother, and that things had clicked together like they were supposed to. She took Forrest's hands as she nodded at Leaf and turned to walk out of the store. "We should be home by then, but first, do you have any idea where a candy shop may be? I told Forrest she was allowed to have some." Brooke smiled as she walked out of the store. She hasn't been aware that Leaf had gotten her anything but then again, they weren't aware of what she had bought either, something that made her rather thrilled with herself.

"yeah i know where it is" he said watching his sister squirm in delight, he smiled at her "you got everything Forrest?" when she nodded he smiled, "ok lets go then, its just down the street" he opened the door for them, Forrest holding Brookes hand again, humming her little tune and practically skipping down the road, Leaf led the way, down the road and round a corner, there sat a bright pink candy store, Forrest let out a squeal and tried to run on, but Leaf stopped her "calm Forrest, or people will know who we are" he said softly, his sisters face fell, she pulled her green unicorn closer to her chest, gripping her moms hand.
Leaf opened the candy shop door and little bell tinkled, the shop keeper looked up and smiled, he knew who they were, he'd been a good friend of their fathers in this part of the town, he waved them over "hello you two" he said softly "heard you've been escaping again? and who is this?" he asked giving Brooke a friendly smile.

Brooklyn walked happily to the candy store. It felt nice for her not to pretend to be happy. If her duty was to truly find herself again, she was doing a great job with it. A soft, happy sigh escaped her as they walked and Forrest hummed. It was peaceful in its own way. It showed her happiness and allowed her to express herself. Brooke walked with them to the candy store and squeezed Forrest's hands when Lead told her to calm down. She knew they couldn't run any risks right now as she was sure the asylum was still on red alert. If they came after her children, she had no problem hurting people. After all, it wasn't very hard for her to so that, nor her children, it seemed.
When they got inside she saw someone behind the counter. She smiled warmly and looked down at her kids before looking back at the man. "My name is Brooklyn..." She paused and thought of what to say. "I'm their mother."
